Amassing and Mutating

Today, Agent Q and I went to view a possible new organgan for the Occupant studio. Q has been inspired of late by Ken Griffin, the keynote star of skating music from the 60s and 70s. We have a 33 rpm album of Skating melodies: "Featuring Ken Griffin on th on the organ gan." Q was intrigued by this typographical anomaly, reminiscnet of the cut-up method of beat poet Brion Gysin, and now "the organgan" has entered our daily parlance in the way "beputer" has become the proper house term for the more technical, bland term, "computer."

Anyway this organgan was cute but too wheezy. It breathed a factory din of exhaust and the charm odometer was ready to roll over. Q wanted it - but only in the way he 'wants' an albino hedgehog - and I would gladly have taken it off the owner's hands for a fin, but the asking price was $60! Sixty dollars. So Q's putting that cash energy toward the cost of a theremin.

A few hours later, M. Buddy, ex-Metal Mound sitarist and floor-creaker-with-hard-shoes-percussionist, made a few phone calls and came up with a long term loaner keyboard suited splendidly to the Occupancy project. So glad day! Moral: wait for something better because it's your dream.
