Our equipment often brings impromptu collaboration in unexpected ways. The condenser mic has its own special reception of the room sound, flattening the dimensions of the room into a plane of new textures. It's hard to imagine the world with no recorded sound. If recorders are extensions of the mechanics of memory, do they replace the purpose of mental activity?
